Jane Cook scoops Silver for Outstanding Independent Practitioner at the CIPR Pride Awards

More than 220 industry professionals gathered at The Exchange Hotel in Cardiff last week, for the nation’s annual public relations showpiece, hosted by BBC Wales presenter Jason Mohammad. The CIPR PRide Awards are a nation-wide awards scheme, recognising excellence in public relations and communications across Wales, Scotland, Northern Ireland and six English regions.

Last week’s gala evening saw leading organisations and communications teams celebrate the best of the industry; I was pleased (if a bit shocked) to take home the silver for ‘Outstanding Independent Practitioner’ – just over a year after taking the plunge and deciding to work for myself.

Having been a card-carrying member of the CIPR for 5 years now (which involves investing in my own continued professional development and making sure that my skills are always fit for purpose), I have seen first hand the high standards that the CIPR expects from award-winning campaigns and candidates.

It feels lovely to be recognised for the work I’ve been putting in this year, and I just want to say thank you to each of the clients who has put their faith in me over the last few months, and effectively made my freelance career possible.

You’re all fab!
